25 years ago, Michael Tiscia, opened Michael’s Trattoria, with the idea of providing affordable
fine Italian dining to build bonds in the community he loves. Ever since Michael was young, he
was surrounded by Italian food, from his Italian roots. He started off working under his father at

family owned Italian restaurant in Stamford, where he learned the basics that would lead him to opening his first restaurant in Norwalk in his 20’s. After early success, Michael wanted to broaden his skills before he could make his true dream restaurant. In his mid 20’s Michael made the choice to go west and trained under a Master Chef, to add fine dining to his resume.
After working as head chef, at Victoria Station, a well-known national steakhouse, he became an expert of proteins It was here he catered to many celebrities including Elton John, Donna Summers and the Blues Brothers movie debut. Michael came back to Connecticut, where he mastered his French cooking skills at La Pavion Hotel, a 5 Star restaurant in Stamford. In the mid 80’s Michael and his brother opened a frozen pizza company, Bravo Pizza. They had product in over 3000 grocery stores from Maine to Florida. After enjoying being able to make food on a larger scale, Michael realized something was just missing. He needed to get back to the small roots of a restaurant where bonds were built with the community. It was at this point Michael opened up Michael’s Trattoria where he’s since built a bond with the community by providing excellent food with value prices.
Since its foundation Michaels has always made sure to have fresh quality beef, with perfect marbling, and Non-Antibiotic chicken to make sure his food matches his standard. All of the sauces, soups, salad dressings, dipping oils are made daily in house. All of Michael’s Italian recipes are passed down from his family then improved by Michael using his many years of experience. To get back to where it all started Michael also has fresh oven fired pizza available to go, or if you are just relaxing at the bar or lounge. If you have a special event or a large gathering Michael’s can accommodate you in one of our four private room, or if you want to have your event at home, Michael’s also caters events. Michael’s is open 7 day’s a week so if you’re hungry, we’re open.
